Solid-state No-moving-part Design

Different from traditional float level switches, the PLS-SS103 adopts fully solid-state optical sensing structure without mechanical floating balls, springs and wearable parts. Working Principle

 

The PLS-SS103 optical liquid switch operates based on the physical principle of infrared light refraction and reflection in different media. The built-in infrared LED emits stable light beams, which are transmitted to the precision optical probe. When the probe is exposed to air (no liquid), the light beam is totally reflected inside the probe and received by the built-in phototransistor, outputting a "no liquid" signal. When the probe is immersed in liquid, the light beam refracts into the liquid medium due to the difference in refractive index between liquid and air, resulting in a sharp decrease in the received light signal of the phototransistor. The sensor instantly converts the light signal change into electrical signal switching, realizing real-time feedback of "liquid present" state, so as to complete liquid level monitoring and linkage control.

Installation Method

 

The PLS-SS103 supports flexible top-mounted and side-mounted installation modes to adapt to different tank and pipeline structures. Before installation, confirm the installation position to ensure the probe detection surface is vertically aligned with the liquid level monitoring point and avoid contact with tank walls and internal accessories. For top installation, fix the sensor through the standard thread interface at the top of the tank; for side installation, install it at the preset monitoring height of the tank side to ensure the probe is fully exposed to the medium to be detected. After installation, tighten the thread to ensure good tightness and no leakage. The whole installation process is simple and fast, no complicated debugging is required, and it can be put into use after wiring according to the manual.
