How It Works

The Smart Valve Controller operates through a three-layer system: sensor input, intelligent processing, and motorized actuation.

Step 1 - App Setup & Network Connection

Download the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app (scan the QR code in the manual or search in Google Play / iOS App Store)

Create an account and log in

Add the device: tap "+" > select "Other" > choose "Others (Wi-Fi)"

Press the power button for 5 seconds until the indicator flashes rapidly

Select your 2.4GHz WiFi network and enter the password

Step 2 - Valve Control

Once connected, the controller's motor drives the valve stem to open or close positions via the transfer handle. The app displays real-time open/close status and allows remote operation from anywhere with an internet connection. Response time is 5–10 seconds per operation.

Step-by-Step Installation

Step 1: Prepare the Valve

Ensure the existing valve (ball valve or gate valve) is in the open position before installation. Clean the valve handle and pipe surface to remove any debris, grease, or rust.

Step 2: Install the Bracket

Attach the mounting bracket onto the installation ears of the Smart Valve Controller. Do not fully tighten the screws at this stage - leave them slightly loose to allow adjustment.

Step 3: Mount on the Pipe

Fix the mounting bracket onto the water or gas pipe using the pipe clips. Ensure the bracket is centered and level on the pipe.

Step 4: Align the Controller

Adjust the position of the Smart Valve Controller so that the transfer handle fits securely over the existing valve handle. Critical: the center line of the Smart Valve Controller and the center line of the valve must be perfectly aligned. Misalignment will prevent the valve from fully opening or closing and may damage the motor.

Step 5: Secure the Handle Clip

Tighten the handle clip screw to lock the controller's transfer handle onto the valve handle. Ensure a firm, flush connection.

Step 6: Test Alignment

Manually pull down the clutch pull ring and swing the transfer handle 90 degrees. Verify that the valve switch operates smoothly through its full range of motion. If resistance is felt, re-check alignment and apply lubricant if needed.

Step 7: Connect Power & Pair

Connect the included 12V/1A power adapter. The red button on the unit allows manual open/close control. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds until the indicator light flashes rapidly - the device is now in pairing mode. Follow the app setup instructions in the "How It Works" section above.

Important: Fully tighten all screws before connecting power. Loose screws can cause misalignment, preventing the valve from fully closing and potentially damaging the motor.
